Absolutely loved it, especially all the pools, pity there was work going on in the middle of pools.. loved the ice baths to also weather was lovely, BUT you need to ask the staff there to go on a training course for customer service there attitude towards customers are applauding and disrespectful. That would not happen here in Liverpool we paid a lot of money to go on holiday and for different activities m, if they treat people like this they should not be in this line of work. Hopefully you will be able to rectify this and put them on a training course soon

Lovely trip to the spa, went early in the day so wasn't too busy. The thermal pools were amazing & the sauna & steam rooms. The reservation with Headout was no problem. We went in and everything we booked was included. Széchenyi Spa was a disappointment. Too many people and the outside pools were separated by a tarp (perhaps construction work) which made it look bad. I regret having opted for this spa. I am sure any other in Budapest would have been a more pleasant experience. I will be back

Amazing place - I've not been to a thermal bath before and this was a great experience. It was being refurbished so one of the pools was currently closed. Perhaps at £30 for basic entry a little expensive but you could stay all day. If you want to Would recommend a visit.

A great day out and once in a lifetime experience, however the main pool is closed for refurbishment (as you can see on the right of the photograph, there was scaffolding all round it) which we had not been told about. We would've chosen a different experience had we known. Was a bit disappointing.

Had a great day at the Spa. The large outdoor pool is being repaired but that didn't spoil things for us. Fruitbowl and drinks in the solarium upstairs (included in the price) was lovely and relaxing. Access via the VIP entrance ( which we eventually found at the side of the building) was easy. Most staff friendly and helpful with one exception. All in all well worth the money.

It was a great experience with clean grounds. The Dayspalm was great with a quiet place to relax and enjoy a beverage and fruit bowl, highly recommend adding. We all got a 45 min massage. One couple was cut short due to the therapist not being ready on time, that was a bummer. Also bummed to see one of the main outdoor pools closed.

Sevwerely dissapointed that the main outdoor swimming pool was closed and the outside beauty completely spoiled by contrstction plastic sheeting. Fees should be 50% is you are not providing what is advertised and wer go for the beauty of the buildings not plastic - No VIP showers and we are paying for VIP... all in all dissapointing to pay VIP to get nothing except a lounge zone..... with a service that would not even swop tea for a cup of coffee... fruit in plastic dish. Not what I had really expected.... tbh!

Quick, pleasant welcome, retro cabins, pleasant baths with different temperatures. The only hitch was that the main bath was closed for major renovations and would be closed for many months, so it was a bit disappointing not to have known about it beforehand. If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't take the fruit and cocktail option, as the whole thing wasn't very good.

🇬🇧 Stepping into Széchenyi Thermal Bath feels like entering a royal dream — where history whispers through steam, and every drop of water carries centuries of healing. From the stunning neo-baroque architecture to the soul-soothing waters, it’s not just a bath… it’s an experience, a memory, a piece of Budapest’s heart. A place where time slows, bodies relax, and love lingers in the mist. 🇭🇺 Széchenyi fürdő nem csak víz — ez Budapest lelke, gőzbe rejtett történelem és nyugalom.

It was a lovely relaxing place even though it seemed so so busy! Lots of choice of pools and the warm baths were heaven! Lots of sunbeds to chill out and reasonable priced drinks and food. Very well attended by staff and very clean in all areas. Had a wonderful day here. Queue waiting for the prepaid tickets was extremely long but moved at a decent pace. We only had about 4ims waiting and that was at 230pm. Definitely prepay though and plan to get there early if you don't want queue. Otherwise have patience and you'll still get in with plenty of choice of beds and pools

Nobody inside the spa knew how and where to redeem the tasting and the information was not available on the ticket - they just kept sending us from one person to the other, but none of them had a clue. We ended up paying but not being able to use the service - I would like a refund. Also, it should have been mentioned that the biggest middle pool is closed for renovations until the end of June - we would have booked another spa instead of here between scaffolding and teo crowded small pools. Hygiene is also questionable, people were blowing their noses into the water, there were beer cups and cans everywhere, the water smelled very strongly like chlorine. The only positive was the beauty of the building and the water temperature.

The tour, although it is only for the 4th floor, is very nice and gives us some history of the town and its main building. We had a hard time finding the guide but finally managed. You don't have to enter the lobby where you get tickets to enter the museum and palace but outside the palace itself, in the square just outside the revolving door on the city side, not the Danube side. Courteous Manuel and colleague to call us by phone. Eventually visit done!

The baths were very relaxing and stunning! Downsides are that it does feel crowded in comparison to others, very difficult to get a sunbed :( and, finding your way around was a bit challenging sometimes but some staff were very helpful.

Hungarian Parliament is a must see of the city od Budapest. The audio tour is well organizaed and lasts enough time to see the most important places inside the building. The experience with Headput was very positive and it was very east to get the tickets following the clear instructions and reminders provided. It is definately recommended.

We followed a guard with the audio guide for the French translation. The text gives all the details of the rooms we pass through, but is concise enough not to lose the viewer. From the staircase to the press room, where all the trades are represented thanks to the statuettes that adorn the top of the walls, from the corridors to the hemicycle room where the European representatives sit, the Parliament is Hungary's real treasure.

A great day out and once in a lifetime experience, however the main pool is closed for refurbishment (as you can see on the right of the photograph, there was scaffolding all round it) which we had not been told about. The truth is that everything has been easy. From the purchase process, follow-up and communication. The thermal baths of Gellert we have fallen in love with super quiet and very complete. It transports you to the 19th century and you leave there refreshed. The boat is also a marvel, at 20.30 it is not yet night and it is the return when you start to see it all illuminated. The building and the spa are really great. The architecture, the ambience, the pools. Overall it was very crowded, which firstly made it very noisy and secondly there was a lack of loungers to rest and relax. In addition, the outdoor pool was not open and the staff were simply unfriendly. A great pity. Important: Take a swimming cap with you or alternatively be prepared to buy one in the spa store at the entrance. Bathing caps must be worn in the swimming pool, not in the thermal pools!

Top things to do in Budapest

Szechenyi Baths | Budapest's largest thermal baths complex

With around 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, the Szechenyi Thermal Baths are one of the largest and most popular bath complexes in Hungary. The bath waters are supplied by two natural thermal springs, rich in minerals, and known to have healing properties. The bath complex maintain their waters at various temperatures and offer numerous wellness treatments to ensure that you are fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

Things to know before booking your Szechenyi Spa tickets

  • Szechenyi Thermal Bath tickets come with various options. You can choose between a standard entry with a locker or a private cabin for storage and changing. For added convenience, you can upgrade your ticket to include fast-track entry, allowing you to skip the line during morning or afternoon slots.
  • All Szechenyi tickets provide full-day access to Szechenyi Spa's 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, sauna, and steam cabins. You can relax for as long as you'd like, making it a great value for those who want to unwind for the entire day.
  • All combo tickets allow you to split the experiences across different days, which means you can fully relax at the baths one day and visit the next attraction on another day, maximizing your experiences while saving money.
  • Popular Budapest Szechenyi Spa tickets, especially the Sparty and combo packages, tend to sell out quickly. So, try to book your tickets at least 3-4 weeks in advance to secure a spot on your preferred date and time, particularly on weekends and holidays.
  • Kids under 14 are not allowed in saunas, steam rooms, plunge pools, or indoor thermal pools due to their high mineral content. They can only use the outdoor pools, including the swimming pool and leisure pool, which do not contain thermal water. Infants are only permitted in pools if they are fully toilet-trained. The use of swimming diapers is strictly prohibited.
  • For something truly memorable, opt for the Sparty tickets. These offer access to the famous late-night Szchenyi Spa parties every Saturday, where you can enjoy electronic music and visual shows while soaking in the thermal baths.
